Care for Your Refinished Surfaces

Follow the instructions supplied with your project. Coatings and curing times vary by surface and system, so your project-specific instructions take priority.

Before using the surface

Wait until the return-to-use time we provide before using, cleaning or placing items on the finish. Handle new finishes gently during curing. Floor instructions distinguish foot traffic from vehicles and heavy items.

Routine cleaning

Use the cleaning products recommended for your finish with a soft cloth or mop. Avoid abrasive cleaners, scrub pads and sharp tools. Do not use acid or toilet-bowl cleaners, solvents, waxes or polishes unless we specifically recommend them for your coating.

Tubs, showers and tile

Avoid suction-cup mats and accessories. Keep leaks repaired and remove spills and residue using the recommended cleaner. Follow the bathing and cleaning start times provided for your project.

Countertops

Use cutting boards for food preparation. Place hot cookware and heat-producing appliances on suitable trivets or protective pads. Avoid direct cutting and follow the cleaning instructions for your finish.

Cabinets

Clean gently with a soft cloth and the recommended product. Avoid soaking the surfaces or using abrasive pads. Follow handling and return-to-use instructions while the finish cures.

Floor coatings

Sweep or dust-mop to remove grit and clean up spills promptly. Use a soft mop and approved cleaner. Follow the specified timing before washing the floor, parking vehicles or returning heavy items.
